Introducing Alan, Head Of Studio
Hi, I'm Alan...
I began my career in the visualisation industry over eighteen years ago, joining iCreate as an intern shortly after completing my degree in 3D Computer Animation. From those early days, I built a strong foundation in 3D visualisation and progressed through every stage of production, gaining hands-on experience across the full creative process. By the age of twenty-four, I had advanced to the role of Senior Artist, leading the creation of visuals and animations for complex architectural and infrastructure projects. During this time, I honed both my technical expertise and creative direction skills while contributing to high-profile developments across the UK and internationally.
At thirty-two, I was appointed Studio Director, a position that brought together my experience in production, leadership, and creative strategy. In this role, I led a team of nine talented artists, all of whom I personally trained and mentored to become key members of the studio. Over the years, I oversaw the delivery of high-quality visuals, animations, and interactive masterplanning schemes for clients in more than twenty-four countries.
“expand the use of visual storytelling, and implement efficient, scalable workflows for a growing creative team.”
A career highlight came when, as Lead Artist, I played a key role in producing the visuals that supported the transformation of the London Olympic Stadium into a world-class multi-sport and football venue, a technically demanding and creatively rewarding project.
Â
After more than fifteen years at iCreate, I was headhunted to establish and lead a new 3D division within a creative agency. I was tasked with building the department from the ground up, an opportunity that allowed me to bring my experience into a new industry setting, expand the use of visual storytelling, and implement efficient, scalable workflows for a growing creative team. Working alongside a fast-moving and eccentric marketing team also gave me fresh insight into how 3D visualisation can drive brand engagement and communication.
Â
Across my career, I have contributed to multi-million-pound developments around the world, combining technical expertise, creative leadership, and a passion for visual excellence to deliver work that informs, inspires, and engages.
Now, as Head of Studio...
my remit is clear: to oversee the day-to-day running of our 3D operations and set the visual standards that define our company. I’m responsible for maintaining our creative direction, refining and improving our production pipeline, and ensuring our workflows are efficient, consistent, and effective. My goal is to build and nurture a high-performing team one that produces work of exceptional quality and delivers a seamless customer experience. Collaboration is key; our CGI, Unreal, Digital & Creative, and Sales departments must work in harmony to drive innovation and push boundaries.
But beyond the processes and production targets, what truly motivates me is people. I’m driven by a desire to help good artists become great ones — to see individuals realise their potential, grow in confidence, and take pride in their work and their workplace. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a team thrive together, united by a shared vision and mutual respect.
“I expect teamwork over ego, accountability over excuses, and honesty above all else; those are non-negotiable.”
To achieve that, I have high expectations. I expect hard work and a real passion for what you do. I expect teamwork over ego, accountability over excuses, and honesty above all else; those are non-negotiable. I want everyone to be curious, to learn, and to bring new ideas to the table.
To deliver excellence as standard to our clients, we have to fully understand the scope and expectations of deliverables. Our clients need to believe in us as a partner that can problem solve, remove time barriers, over deliver and widen the offering they may not yet have thought of. I want our clients to see us as a go to partner for their creative needs who can help them compete and beat their competition in an ever evolving market.
Â
In an ever changing world of AI we have to think differently, be clever and see opportunities to offer clients what AI can not, consistency, a human touch and originality. More than ever we have to look at how relationships are formed, nurtured and strengthened, recognising that a project is not defined solely by its final visual, but by the entire client journey behind it. Through thoughtful communication, meaningful feedback, and shared passion, we create an experience that makes our clients feel genuinely valued and eager to champion our team.
